Dear Readers,
The baby went to sleep a little earlier today so I had some time to snap a few pictures of my new dollhouse: the Hannah Montana Malibu Beach House. I found it at a garage sale and I liked it instantly because it was completely furnished and the interior decor was fun and unusual.
It was released in 2008 by Disney and modeled after its hit TV show Hannah Montana starring Miley Cyrus. It is 1:6 scaled and fits the Hannah Montana dolls or same size dolls like Barbie, LIV, etc.
Here is a full view of the inside.
This is the bedroom with a balcony and a swing chair.
Or I guess you could re-arrange it like this.
The other room could be a boudoir or bathroom.
The living room has fantastic French doors that can swing open.
The kitchen looks very retro.
The stove door can open but not the drawers.
The fridge has two doors and an ice maker. It has many built-in shelves.
The exterior of the dollhouse is lovely and looks quite realistic.
The dollhouse was a real bargain although there are scratches, stickers on the wall, and paint/crayons marks lefts on some parts of the floor.
Overall, I love the dollhouse. It think it's a dream house for children. But for an adult collector, I am not sure I would want to keep it. The furniture are very sturdy and the stained-glass window upstairs is beautiful. The French door is my favorite feature. But the house is very big even when it's folded in half. It's just a really massive house. Maybe I would keep it for my daughter. What do you think?
I love how it looks. What scale is it? Barbie scale? Great furniture, fun retro kitchen. Depending on how big it really is, I'd say it's a keeper! xo Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking! I forgot to mention it! I have edited my post to add that it is indeed a 1:6 scale and fits Barbie dolls!
DeleteI've never seen this dollhouse because probably it wasn't released in Italy, but it's a shame because I think it's really beautiful and detailed, what scale it is?
ReplyDeleteIt's 1:6 scale. I just added this information on my post. I always assume that people would know what the scale is >.< but I forget that Hannah Montana is not a show that many people knows about and the dollhouse is probably unknown to other countries!
DeleteI remember the tv show (even though I was already older than its target audience at the time) but I don't think all this merchandise arrived in Italy (it's the same with Monster High: there are a lot of dolls tha weren't released here :( ), anyway I think that with minor alterations, this could be a great house for a collector that wants to display his/her dolls in a more realistic environment than Barbie's bright pink houses!
DeleteI think the Barbie pink house is more like a fantasy house while this one is so much more life-like and great for photo background. I don't like the wallpaper though. Might have to change it if I decide to keep the house.
DeleteI love this house, Jane. That retro feel is really neat. I would keep it, simply because I have not seen it before and think they might be rare.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually a discontinued dollhouse. They are no longer in production and the show no longer exist so in a sense, yes it is kind of rare (which explains the crazy price on Amazon!)
DeleteHello from Spain: you have to keep this house. It's a fabulous house. In my country is not for sale. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteI am so tempted to keep it to be honest :) I just need the space!
DeleteI know you have aLOT of offers... I would love this house more than anything.. I know you don't wanna sell it.. but it is beautiful
DeleteI am sorry but I don't want to sell it. I hope you can find it one day!
DeleteGreat furniture sets inside! I like the windows in the living room!
ReplyDeleteI like them too. I think it would be fun for an outdoor photoshoot with all light coming in!
DeleteIts a fantastic house with great details! I do love the furniture style as well they seem nicely made. I do know how big the 1:6 is though my daughters house takes up a space of her wall!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a keeper ;)

It takes a whole wall indeed. It's right now sitting on a table in my boy's room. He hates it LOL I am waiting to find a better location.
DeleteOkay, to be completely honest, if I'd seen this in the store with the name "Hannah Montana" on the package, I would have ignored it completely. However, it's a pretty cool set-up!
ReplyDeleteI dont' think I would have bought it back then either. I was never interested in the TV show. But right now, the house looks fun and it's incredibly well made.
DeleteI love the exterior! I was not that found of the furniture, a little to much plastic for me, but some of them are really nice =) I'd save it if I had room for it =) Or maybe let your daughter play with it, I bet my daughter would be head over heals for a house like this =)
ReplyDeleteHannah
I agree with the furniture! I think the only piece I like is the green chair with the foot rest. And the swing on the balcony is nice too. The rest can go.
Deleteoh yes keep it for your daughter. If the crayon and paint are on plastic they will come off with Magic Erasers!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip Rita!!! I will try to find those Magic Erasers!
DeleteI have the same beautiful house in great condition with furniture and dolls willing to sell. I purchased it for my grand and myself. I just love it I don't think about the name I call it a Fantastic Dollhouse .
