Dear Readers,
The second challenge's theme was Adventure! Three things came to my mind :
1. The Indiana Jones's movies
2. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
3. The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland
I crossed out the first one because I didn't have any clothes or prop to make it happen! My boy really wanted me to make the costume but I didn't have enough time nor skills to sew anything! I crossed out the second because I was afraid the story wouldn't be famous enough for the judges to recognize.
So I opted for the last one because I already had most of the elements necessary for the photo. I set up my scene on Saturday during baby's nap. The most difficult part was making the card soldiers. It took many trials and errors to finally get the right size and to keep them glued on their "feet",
I created the croquet scene because it's one of my favorite scene! I wished I had a Sylvanian Families Hedgehog baby because he would have made the perfect croquet ball! (I am sure mommy hedgehog would disagree with me!). Instead I used a Playmobil hedgehog which was also very cute!
Pullip Merl is the Red Queen. I didn't want to show her face because DAL is supposed to be the main focus in the picture and my Pullip doll has such a big head that I think she would most likely overshadow my little Scout (Dal Tweety)! So I cut off her head (Get it? Get it? Okay, that was lame :P)
Overall, I am happy with my picture but the contestants created much better shots than I did. You should take a look at the entries HERE. Isn't it MIND BLOWING? I would be happy not to finish last!!!
But to be honest, I had a lot of fun doing this challenge. It felt like a SCAVENGER HUNT during which I looked all over my toy collection to see what I could use for this photo. The third challenge has already been posted: VINTAGE! I already know what I want to do. I just hope the execution will be better this time and I won't wait until the last minute again!
Have a great week everybody!
You've done a beautiful job again, Jane Cherie! Your photo is really rich with color and depth and story--it's a nice as (or nicer than) any of the others, and they're all fantastic! The judges with have a very difficult time! I can't wait to see what you do for the Vintage challenge--it's really exciting! Congratulations! xo Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI think also that it will be difficult for the judges. I don't know how they can grade the pictures!
DeleteYou're photo looks amazing! I love the little chesire cat in the tree, and the rose background, it's all wonderful and fits the theme very well! The others are great as too, lots of creative people are entering. I think yours is definitely one of the best! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Paige! You are so sweet but I don't think my photo was among the best!
DeleteAnd it's funny you mentioned the background because I remember how much I didn't like it... well it sure was good to have it in this occasion :D
DeleteI love your photo! I agree with Jennifer that the color and depth is so appealing. You did a FANTASTIC job and should be so proud. I am glad you had fun. Thank you for sharing this with us. I am off to check out the other entrants.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lisa
LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Danzel!
DeleteYou've taken a beautiful picture! I love it! The atmosphere is stunning, and the little cardsoldiers are so cute! The adventures of Baron Münchhausen would have been also very cool, but I think it would have been quiete difficult too.
ReplyDeleteIt was actually and easy scene I wanted to re-created: the one with the cannonball :)
DeleteI really love this scene. You've done a wonderful job here.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Drora
Thank you Drora!
DeleteHahah I love how the queens head is cut out of the picture, it makes it even more special!! A great detail. I love the picture, you have so many great details and think about everything! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be filled with great ideas, I couldn't have come up with all of this, so I'm very impressed! We all have different skills, and you are talented in composing a wonderful scene, and take a great photo of it too! I think there were many great pictures, and yours are one of them!
Good luck, I look forward on the next scene!!
Hannah
Thank you Hannah. I don't have much confidence in my staging skills but I am having fun with these challenges so that's what I like about it! I hope to learn a few tricks along the trip :D
DeleteJ'aime ce que tu as fait et le principal n'est pas de gagner mais de te faire plaisir! ;) Je vois enfin tes poupettes, elles sont si mignonnes... j'adore ta petite Dall! :) Même la mini Pullip me paraît trop chou!
ReplyDeleteEn tout cas je te félicite pour tout ce que tu fais dans tes photos, c'est superbe.
Merci ma belle! Je ne prends pas souvent des photos de mes petites poupées alors ce concours vient à point tombé!
