Dear Readers,
I went shopping for diapers at Toys R Us again and guess what I saw? A miniature mall display by miWorld. It's like having a roombox of a well-known store! Each roombox is stackable and can be connected to the other roombox to create a miniature mall!!! Genius concept and I love the stores involved in this project.
- Claire's
- Sweet Factory
- OPI nail salon
- Sprinkles cupcakes
- Dairy Queen
I already have the previous sets and had been awaiting the arrival of the new shops: Mrs. Fields Cookie Shop and Skechers Shoe Shop.
A medium set is the Skechers Shoe Store and it is sold for $29.99 (called a Deluxe Set).
The biggest set was the Karaoke Lounge and Snack Shop and the price is $39.99. I did not expect this set and I was surprised to see it! It's a great new addition to the line but it's so expensive!
Apart from these roombox, you could also buy small packets of miniature items to complete the set (look above the karaoke lounge box). They are sold for $2.99 each. There are also a photo booth machine and a vending maching sold separately for $9.99 each. The dolls are sold for $5.99 each (if I remember correctly),
There are many stores where you can buy buy miWorld toys as listed HERE. I found the previous five sets at Walmart and the remaining sets at Toys R US. I have never seen any of the sets go on sale. I wished it could be a Buy One Get One 50% off but it didn't happen yet.
The realism of the miWorld collection reminds me so much of Re-ment miniature but not as detailed and they seem to be of lesser quality than Re-ment. It's still cheaper than Re-ment though so for this price, it's pretty good. I do like that miWorld did not increase their price since the last releases. All the starter sets and deluxe sets are at the same price as before. The karaoke lounge is a set apart from the other in term of price though because it's bigger and a Toys R Us exclusive.

I honestly wanted to buy all of the sets today but I only went home with the Cookie shop and Shoe shop and a few of the packets. I will probably wait a few more months to see if the Karaoke lounge would go on sale.
I did not care for are the dolls released with these playsets. They are pretty but not cute enough to me and I have so other many others dolls that are willing to sample the mall for them ;-)
I wanted to open up a box to set up the display but I am waiting for my husband to finish fixing his paddle board (his new sporting hobby) because that thing is huge and is taking up all the place of my dining room (where I usually take pictures).
I don't need another brand of toys at home but it was too difficult to resist these miniature roombox!!! I mean c'mon! A roombox full of realistic minis? I couldn't say no! As I often wished Re-ment was produced here instead of the East because I wouldn't have to pay so much for shipping fee, I didn't want to pass up this chance of getting a miniature room in an actual store and not pay any shipping cost!

What do you think about miWorld? Is it worth that price tag?
DeleteOh wow!!!! :DI love those shops, I think I would buy all of them! But unfortunatly they don't sell those in Germany :(.
ReplyDeleteThey don't??? I am surprised! I think they should totally offer this oversea!
DeleteI totally agree! Maybe I could import them...
DeleteWow! Thanks for showing us the photos. Although I knew miWorld before from the local Walmart there are some roomboxes here I never saw. The shoe shop and the lounge look amazing. $39 is good if it's the biggest set. Look forward to see you open the boxes you got.
ReplyDeleteI will probably open some of this weekend if time permits!
DeleteI know what you mean by, "How could I resist?" :-D Miniatures are just irresistible sometimes, aren't they? I know I would have had trouble resisting the Mrs. Fields and the Sprinkles Cupcakes! :-D They look cute. How tall are the walls and/or the dolls? xo Jennifer
ReplyDeleteComparing photos of the stores with dolls I have seen on Flickr, I think the set is between 1:6 and 1:12. I will open the Mrs. Fields set this weekend and check out the measurements! I'll write a post about it and use some dolls for models :)
DeleteSuper! :) Merci Jane !
DeleteI have so enjoyed browsing your blog and these little shops certainly look interesting, can you please tell me what scale they are? I haven't seen them in Australia. I have just purchased a whole heap of Sylvanian Families furniture and found them the perfect scale for my Real Puki's.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
X
I will take pictures today and hopefully post them tomorrow :) Thank you for your comment!
