Moxie Girlz Jammaz House

Dear Readers,

Are you a fan of Bratz dolls? I must admit I have never been interested in them but I adore their playsets! Maybe it’s a reaction to the eternal Barbie pink. I am usually more inclined to buy a dollhouse or furniture that is NOT pink and Bratz has issued many non-pink items. I personally think the Bratz World House and furniture are among the greatest doll playsets I have ever seen.

Unfortunately for me, I came too late in the dolly world so I wasn’t there when these awesome toys were released. But I was lucky and got a hold of some of them on the secondary market and in some cases, the items were brand new.

The Bratz World House however is usually sold for quite a hefty price and I didn’t want to buy something at such a high cost, especially when I risk getting a damaged house (which happened to me one time too many).

So I was really happy when I saw the Moxie Girlz Jammaz House. It’s basically the same design as the Bratz World House but with slight differences in colors, furniture and accessories. Beware though, the Moxie Girlz Jammaz House was released in two different models: one playset comes with a bed and bathtub, and one does not!

The Moxie Girlz House is a folding dollhouse so it takes very little space! There is an outer shell and two walls that can be flipped over to show a different background. Everything fits perfectly inside the outer shell for easy storage (except the furniture).

Here is what the dollhouse looks like from the front, when it is folded.

Although the house is now released as a Moxie Girlz dollhouse, it still shows the Bratz logo.  Not surprising since MGM Entertainment which produced Bratz, is the also the company that produces Moxie Girlz.  They were just a bit lazy here and re-marketed this dollhouse without making much changes.  Not that I complain!  It's a great dollhouse to re-release!

The back of the house.

The bathroom is by far my favorite wall.  It is so detailed and lush.

Here is Emma for size comparison. The shower door can open.

Here is the bath tub that came with the house.

The kitchen is my least favorite wall.

It looks pretty but it's super flat!  You can't put much in that oven.

Emma does not care.  I don't think she cooks.

This is the wall that you have seen in my previous post. So versatile!

The flat-screen TV and fireplace mantle.

The bed came with a pillow.

The closet and vanity you see here did not come with the dollhouse.  They are from a Bratz Furniture Playset, but their color match perfectly with the Moxie Girlz House and the bed.

And lastly, thhe accessories that came with the house. There were also a white hand towel, a pink towel/blanket, and stickers for the TV and Kitchen.

The main difference between the Bratz World House is that the Bratz World House came with a sofa and a dining table and chairs and some kitchen accessories while the Moxie Girlz Jammaz House comes with a bed and bathtub instead.

Of all my folding dollhouses and playsets, the Moxie Girlz Jammaz House is my favorite. It is just so beautiful! There are so many details on these walls and they are very functional.  You can arrange your house is so many different ways!  It’s just the perfect house to use as background pictures and I can see how it can appeal to children as well just as a regular play house as well.

Licca dolls fit wonderfully in this type of house. They are about the same size as Bratz and Moxie dolls so it’s a perfect fit. I can’t gush enough about how much I love the house. I wish MGA Entertainment will keep on coming up with more great playsets like this and issue more furniture!

Emma's Bedroom

Dear Readers,

I intended to make a long post to show you the dollhouse I have chosen for Emma, my new Licca Castle doll, but it was much too busy yesterday to take pictures of everything so I can only show you a few shots of her bedroom.

I bought the Moxie Girlz Jammaz House many months ago but I didn't want to post about it until I got Emma because she was just perfect for this house.

The Moxie Girlz Jammaz House was released in two different editions:  one with a bed and bath tub (which I bought), and one without those furniture pieces!  Since I don't know exactly what edition is sold on websites, I don't want to link them and confuse people as to what issue they will receive.  In case of doubt, it's always best to ask the seller before buying.

The vanity table is from an old Bratz furniture set (Bratz World Yasmin's House).  The cosmetics are from Re-ment.  I found out about them HERE thanks to Moonrabbit's Miniature World who blogs about Sylvanian Families, Re-ment, Blythe and Miniature in general!  You should check out her blog!  She takes gorgeous pictures and she writes detailed reviews

Now back to Emma in her bedroom.  When I set up the dollhouse on my table, I thought it looked quite pretty; the most elegant dollhouse I have ever seen.  Once I placed Emma in her bedroom, it became so much more!  She was the ONE for this dollhouse.  She just belonged there.

Emma in her dainty bedroom!

The bed came with the dollhouse.

View from the top

Full view of her bedroom.

The dollhouse has a lot more rooms/walls and I can't wait to show them to you!  But I need to have time first.  Baby didn't sleep until 10 pm last night and I was too tired after that to take more photos.  I took the photos while she was awake and it was something I will not attempt again.  She was constantly trying to grab the items from the table.  Although she was too small to reach any of the furniture, her constant hovering around the table made it difficult for me to set up the display.  I gave her another dollhouse to occupy her but she wanted me to play with her, so in the end, I could only take a few shots before putting away everything.

Disclaimer: All opinions are my own. I was not paid or received gifts to write this or mention any stores or website. You may find a better store in your area.

Licca Castle - Special Toy Box

Dear Readers,

I have been dreaming of getting another Licca Castle doll and it was a difficult decision because there are so many pretty dolls to choose from.  I finally chose: Licca Castle Special Toy Box Doll .

The website describes her as having blonde-white hair with purple/brown eyes and pink lips.

Licca Castle dolls are more expensive than the Licca Playline dolls but they are worth it.  Their face-up is so much more defined and the quality of their hair is totally in another league.  Super smooth and silky.

Licca Castle collaborated with 20 doll outfit artists and created dolls and outfits for their 20th anniversary special event.   "Special Toy Box" is one of the artists. She mainly makes Momoko's outfits, and they sell out very quickly when she opens her web shop. Below is her website and blog.

Here is how the doll is packaged.

The inside panel slides out easily.
A white dress and white shoes are included.

The doll is held only by two cloth-covered rubber bands.
Yeah for easy unboxing!

Here she is!

Her end curls are a little messy.

She has such a sweet face. A subtle smile and a soft purple shade in her eyes.

With hair swept in the front.

I am so happy with this doll.  She looks so precious and dainty.  I was a little surprised when I first saw her because she didn't look like her stock picture.  But that was because her hair was messy in the box and her bangs were flattened by the plastic holder around her head.  But once I got her out of the box, she looked exactly like her stock photo.  Once noticeable difference though is that the dress she wears in her stock photo is not the same as the dress I received.  That is not a problem for me since I don't mind this dress.  It's well made, it's soft and it fits her nicely.

I need to take better pictures of her though because I took these photos really quickly yesterday.  I feel I am not doing her any justice with my terrible photos!  So hopefully she will get some deserved time in front of the camera soon!  And I think I will name her Emma.  Do you think it suits her?

Li'l Kids Club Room

Dear Readers,

How was your weekend?  It was a calm weekend for me.  I didn't plan any activity. I did stop by a Tuesday Morning store on Saturday and found a Li'l Kids Club Room from the Only Hearts Club Collection.

It was originally $24.99 but I got it for $7.99. I found it marked down on a Clearance shelf.  The pink sticker on the price tag means they will take off 20% of their price tag.  It was made for Li'l kids dolls from Only Hearts Club but it fits Kelly-sized dolls like Miki-chan and Maki-chan.

The box opens up to show a bed with two bedside tables, a bench under a window adorned with curtains, another bench and a coffee table.  A pillow and blanket complete the design.  All the furniture is made of cardboard and the house Club Room itself is cardboard.  The roof seems to be made of plastic.

Then bed is really cute and it falls down from the wall when you open the box.  You need to lift it back up for the box to close.

Maki-chan and Miki-chan tried the Club Room.

They like the bench under the window!

They both fit on the other bench too.

And the Club Room closes shut with a snap button.

For $8, it is worth it.  But the original price of $24.99 is too high in my humble opinion because it is made of cardboard and not plastic.  It would probably tear very easily.  I intend to give it to my daughter so she can take it with her to the baby sitter's house.  That way she can take along her dolls and store them away when she is done playing.  She has totally adopted Miki-chan and Maki-chan so they are hers now and not mine anymore.  Which means I'll probably have to buy my own now ;-)

New Hair for Pullip and Dal

Dear Readers,

I am still in the process of moving my dolls and miniature collections inside my new cabinets but I just had to take photos of the new wigs that have arrived this weekend for my Dal and Pullip dolls.  I only have one Dal doll and two Pullip dolls and I don't plan on buying more for the time being.   But I hardly ever put Pullip Paja Regen on display because she has impossibly bad hair.  And although I love my Dal Dotori, her braids were not easy to match with any type of outfits or background.

So I decided to buy new wigs for them.  After many months of reading about different companies, I settled for wigs from LEEKEWORLD because they were apparently superior in quality.  But the shipping fee from Korea was a flat $20 no matter how small your order.

I then discovered that DENVER DOLL EMPORIUM, a USA-based company, also sold Leekeworld wigs!  So I went on their website and chose two models.  Each wig was $28 plus a shipping fee of $6.40 for both (priority shipping).  This sure beats having to pay $20 for shipping!

I must do a shoutout to Paula from DENVER DOLL EMPORIUM because I picked the wrong color for one of the wig after I sent in my order!!!  Once I realized my mistake, I emailed to them and Paula said it was not a problem at all and fixed the order right away for me despite the fact that I had already submitted and paid for my order!  Thank you Paula, you are a star!!!!

There are many style, color and size to choose from!  I chose size 8-9 because I read that it will fit my Pullip doll but also my Dal doll, although it would be a little big on a Dal and it would cover her eye mechanism on the back of her head.  And I am glad I chose a bigger size because some hairstyle does not suit the Dal dolls as well as the Pullip dolls.

Here are the wigs as packaged upon arrival.

This is the wig covered by a hair net.

Leeke wig size 8-9 Taylor
Color : Dark Champagne
Model : LWLR-121

Dal Dotori is not sure this new hairstyle suits her...

Pretty color but a little messy because of the braids.

Leeke Harper wig size 8-9
Color : Baby Brown
Model : LWLR-099

Pullip Paja likes her new hair though!

At last, no more bad hair!

I love love love the new hair on my dolls.  At first I was very disappointed in the Harper model because I tried it on Dal Dotori and it did not suit her at all.  But once I got it on Pullip Paja, the magic happened and she was so much better looking and the hair was really wonderful compared to her stock wig which was a nightmare!

There is a slight problem with the Harper wig though: part of the cap shows a little in the front so it's difficult to style her bangs.  I have to make sure it's done in such a way as to hide the cap.

Here are the pros and cons of the Leekeworld wigs:

PROS
Very soft and malleable hair
Easy to style
Gorgeous colors

CONS
Expensive
Messy if you choose braids
Size 8-9 is a little big for a Dal Doll
Size 8-9 is right for a Pullip doll but you have to stretch the cap a lot to make it fit on her head

Overall, I think I would order Leekeworld wigs again but I will choose different colors!  Probably pink or blue :)  I'll have to save some money first because my wallet is still recovering ...

Storage Space

Dear Readers,

I am so glad it's Friday.  I look forward to the last day of the week because the weekend is near and I will finally have time to be with my children at home.  This week seemed longer than normal because my daughter was teething and so she was feverish and cried for hours non-stop.  She is usually clingy but this time I literally could not let her down and had to carry her in my arms all the time.  Well thank goodness it's over now and she is back to her happy self but it's been tough for her and for us to see her so miserable.

Now that she feels better I will be able to take our family out to dinner with my father and his wife who came to visit us all the way from Canada.  They are staying for a month so we will probably go out more often than usual so we can show them around the city.

I also hope to have more time to organize the new cabinets my husband has installed this week.  I desperately needed more storage space for my miniature collection, dolls and dollhouse furniture!  I started to store them inside the cabinets and I realized how much stuff I have.  I knew I had a lot but it's not until they are all gathered in one single space that it really shows.  I will have to do some more purging!

Here below are some pictures from the shelves I have filled.  It's just one portion of the cabinets.  There are lots more to organize.  Like my craft supplies and my son's toys... Hopefully I will have time to do it soon.  Have a great weekend everybody!

Scarlet Fever

Dear Readers,

On Monday I woke up with an awful sore throat.  No cough drop or honey would soothe down the pain.  I went to work anyway thinking it would get better.  To make things worse, I had a rash all over my body and I assumed it was caused to an allergy to my sunblock.  My skin reacts very easily to any kind of lotion or sunscreen so it was my regular assumption whenever I get a rash.

That Monday night I had the chills and my sore throat got worse.  I went to the doctor the next day who confirmed I had the scarlet fever which is an illness with a characteristic rash that is caused by a strep infection.    So now I am taking antibiotics to treat my strep throat.

A scarlet fever and strep throat infection is contagious but within 24 hours of taking the antibiotic I would be less of a risk to other people.  I really hope my kids won't get it.  I should have checked with the doctor right away!  Never take symptoms for granted and check with your doctors if your body is reacting differently than usual!

I am already feeling better which will come handy because I have much to do this weekend.  We went to IKEA to buy furniture in order to organize my little home!  I'll show you my new craft/doll station once it's done!  My father will also arrive on Sunday to spend his summer vacation with us so it will be very busy!

Here below is my little girl playing with a play kitchen while we were at the IKEA store.  She has a Strawberry Shortcake play kitchen at home but of course, she had to sample this one!

Hannah Montana Malibu Beach House

Dear Readers,

The baby went to sleep a little earlier today so I had some time to snap a few pictures of my new dollhouse: the Hannah Montana Malibu Beach House.  I found it at a garage sale and I liked it instantly because it was completely furnished and the interior decor was fun and unusual.

It was released in 2008 by Disney and modeled after its hit TV show Hannah Montana starring Miley Cyrus.   It is 1:6 scaled and fits the Hannah Montana dolls or same size dolls like Barbie, LIV, etc.

Here is a full view of the inside.

This is the bedroom with a balcony and a swing chair.

Or I guess you could re-arrange it like this.

The other room could be a boudoir or bathroom.

The living room has fantastic French doors that can swing open.

The kitchen looks very retro.

The stove door can open but not the drawers.

The fridge has two doors and an ice maker.   It has many built-in shelves.

The exterior of the dollhouse is lovely and looks quite realistic.

The dollhouse was a real bargain although there are scratches, stickers on the wall, and paint/crayons marks lefts on some parts of the floor.

Overall, I love the dollhouse. It think it's a dream house for children.  But for an adult collector, I am not sure I would want to keep it.  The furniture are very sturdy and the stained-glass window upstairs is beautiful.   The French door is my favorite feature.  But the house is very big even when it's folded in half.  It's just a really massive house.  Maybe I would keep it for my daughter.  What do you think?
