Presents from PlushPussyCat

Dear Readers,

A few weeks ago, I received a big package.   I was really curious about what it could be because I was not expecting anything.  It wasn't my birthday and it wasn't any special day at all. Turned out it was Jennifer from PLUSHPUSSYCAT who sent me a box full of miniature goodies!  Jennifer is a very sweet friend from whom I learned a lot about miniature.  I actually found out about other miniature blogs thanks to her.

I was in the middle of my cabinets renovation so I couldn't post anything for quite a long time.  Then I was busy creating my Sylvanian Families village so that took a while as well!  Finally now that it is setup, I can properly show you the gifts she has sent me!!!

It was a fantastic selection of miniature items including a super cute Re-ment Hello Kitty convenience store food set!   I was also impressed by the clay miniatures because it's handmade and each piece is unique.  I also received stickers, candies and stencils!

Here are the handmade minis!

I had to show you a close-up of the chocolate cake because it's so tiny but so perfect.  Look at those cherries and the frosting!!!  I can't even make real-size frosting curls that well!

The wedding cake was also gorgeous and it's perfect for a Sylvanian Families wedding reception!

And my favorite is the flower bouquet!!!

Hello Kitty ribbons ♥

Kitchen pots and pans (Iwako erasers!)

Miniature Rabbits (they look like Mini Sylvanians!)

To give you and idea about the size of those items, I have displayed them in a Barbie dollhouse.  Can you spot where they are?

Yes! On the kitchen stove and counter!

Let's play this game again!  Can you spot something in the room below that's from Jennifer's package?

The Iwako Rabbits on Licca's bed!

If you noticed the Re-ment's dog in the previous picture, then you probably remember it was  a gift sent to me by MoonRabbit_Ly's Miniature World!  It came with the heater which I am also using in the bedroom.

Thank you Jennifer and Chloe for sploiling me so much and sending me those wonderful gifts!  I have setup another Barbie dollhouse to show more of the items I have received but it will take a few more days.  It was very humid this weekend and I feel quite ill because of this hot weather.  Hopefully it will cool down soon.

Have a wonderful week everybody!

Hello Kitty here, Hello Kitty there!

Dear Readers,

I was very spoiled by my blogger friends this year.   Melissa from Julia's Bookbag sent me a super adorable Hello Kitty New Year red packet!  If you like books, tea, Hello Kitty, Japanese stuff, Russian fairy tales, etc... you should totally read her!   She is super funny and I learned so many things thanks to her blog.

She also sent me Hello Kitty marshmallow and Botan Rice Candies!  If you never had these, you should try them because they taste so good.  It has actually been many years since I ate one so eating them brought back many good memories.   The presents were for my son but he only wanted the money and marshmallow so I ate all the rice candies hehehe!

Speaking of Hello Kitty, did you know Groove created a Little Dal Hello Kitty doll?  In fact, Groove did a special collaboration with Sanrio and released 3 mini dolls:
  1. Little Dal Hello Kitty Baby
  2. Little Dal Cinnamoroll Baby
  3. Little Byul My Melody Baby
And for some reasons, they are actually super cheap on Amazon right now at only $19.99 (and you can get free shipping if you buy $35 or more but it also depends on the seller because some of them will have a separate shipping fee).  I don't know why the price has dropped down so much but they are usually around $29 and sometimes a lot more (on EvilBay)!

Here below are some photos of them from Amazon so you can see how cute they are!

Each of them wear a bib and they have a giant hoodie shaped like the character they represent.  I am not a huge fan of Byul's facemold but I have to say this My Melody Baby is pretty cute!

I think they would make great presents for Hello Kitty fans and Sanrio fans too.   They are quite small at about 4 inches so it's not a big doll and they can be stored easily thanks to the rectangular box in which they are packaged.

I have updated my Amazon Shop and added the Sanrio Little Dal dolls.  There are a few more dolls that are on sale too if you want to go over there and take a look.

I updated my Amazon page for Little Dal so you can see on the first and second page the dolls on sale right now.  I am a biting my fingers because I bought the Coral doll at twice that price for my niece just a few months ago!

You can also access my shop by clicking on the pretty Mini Lalaloopsy picture on the right-hand side bar!

I am quite excited about these dolls so I bought all 3 Sanrio Littles :)  I know I should save money but how can a woman resist a good sale?

One more day until New Year...

Dear Readers,

Are you ready for this weekend?  I am so ready.  I am ready for a restful and pleasant Lunar New Year.  My home is not totally ready yet though.   I took Thursday off to finish cleaning up and preparing for the big day on Friday.  On top of that, we are having guests tomorrow!  My husband's cousins are coming over and some of them are staying at my place.  Let me tell you something, there is no greater incentive to clean your house than when you know you are going to have visitors!

We bought a few plants and flowers.  My boy had a really fun time decorating the bamboo tree with lucky charms and miniature lanterns.

I bought my favorite gummy candies from Kasugai and I placed the lucky money in their red envelopes.

I didn't forget that I wanted to show you miniature items for the Chinese New Year.  Here below are miniature pieces made by Orcara.  The firecrackers and candied fruit tray (which we typically eat during the New Year) are very well done.  You can remove the fruits from the tray's compartments.

The doll is a Hello Kitty Mini Valentine Doll purchased at Target today.  I was very curious about her because I have never seen any Hello Kitty doll this size before.  Here she is next to some other Mini dolls so you can compare the size.

She is almost the same size as the Playmobil figure so she would look totally fine in a Playmobil house!

Another doll I found at Target was the Valentine Special Target Exclusive Mini Lalaloopsy Doll: Velvet B. Mine!  She is only $4.99 (comparatively to the usual $6.99 for Mini Lalaloopsy dolls) and she comes with 2 pets and a velvet cake on a stand.

Doesn't she remind you of somebody?  Yup... Dollop Light-N-Fluffy!   Dollop comes with more accessories but I definitely like Velvet B Mine's dress better!

There are also new Mini Lalaloopsy dolls at Target but I will post about them another day because it's so so late right now and I desperately need some sleep!

At the Galleria

My little girl wasn't feeling too well yesterday.  She developed a slight body rash which is the first time it has happened.  She never had any type of baby rash before and she didn't eat anything new this weekend so I wonder what has triggered this sudden condition.

I hope she will feel better soon and we can go out again like this weekend.  I took her out to the Galleria on Saturday to play at their indoor playground because it was colder than usual outside.  It was incredibly crowded.  It seems the Christmas shopping rush has started earlier this year.

We admired the huge Christmas tree they placed at the center of the ice ring.

We didn't go window shopping but we did stop at the Sanrio store!
I was very tempted to buy their miniature dollhouse furniture!

They had a very cute Hello Kitty Christmas tree on display!

And many handbags!!!

And Wizard of Oz themed Hello Kitty plushies!
(I know Danzel from Silver Shoes and Rabbit Holes would love this!)

I can't wait to be home again with my children.  Even though I only have 3 work days this week because of Thanksgiving, I feel sad more than ever when I leave baby in the morning to go to work.  If it was up to me, I would stay home and cherish every day I can have with my family.  But I am the only one with a stable income so I can't leave my job.

I will think of the wonderful long weekend ahead and be in good spirits for the next 3 days.  We are planning a big family reunion as usual and a family dinner as well.  I won't cook the turkey this year and I'll let somebody else take care of that difficult task.  Have you ever prepared a whole chicken/turkey before?  It is scary and gross.  Well at least it is to me.  I don't usually cook meat so I always do so reluctantly, even with pre-cut pieces of meat.  So imagine how challenging it was to prepare a WHOLE chicken.  I won't attempt again, I can tell you that.

What are you planning to cook for Thanksgiving?
